Qofte të Fërguara
Recipe Description
Fried meatballs. Serves 4 peopleIngredients
- 1 pound ground lamb or ground beef|beef or ground chicken|chicken
- ground chicken| or lamb,beef and pork together (is testier and soft)
- ½ onion, finely chopped
- ? cup plain breadcrumbs
- 4 tbsp chopped feta cheese
- 1 garlic clove, crushed
- ¼ cup chopped mint (use less, if dried)
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp oregano
- salt and pepper
- flour
- oil
- Soak bread in water or milk until very soft.
- Squeeze hard to drain.
- Combine all ingredients except flour and oil.
- Let stand covered for 1 hour or 24 hour in the fridge to allow the flavors to blend.
- Shape into ½-inch thick patties.
- Dust with flour and fry until done at 350°F - 365°F.
