Walnut Strudel

In Romanian: Strudel cu nuci

Ingredients

  • strudel dough
  • oil for greasing the pan
  • powdered sugar|confectioner's sugar with vanilla flavor
  • ==
  • 10 oz / 300 g walnut meal|ground walnuts
  • 3 tablespoons plain breadcrumbs
  • 10 oz / 300 g powdered sugar|confectioner's sugar
  • ½ cup tepid oil
  • vanilla

Directions

  1. Mix the walnut meal|ground walnuts with the granulated sugar|sugar, bread crumbs and vanilla.
  2. Grease the dough with tepid oil and sprinkle filling all over the dough.
  3. Roll like a jelly roll using the table cloth as an aid.
  4. Cut into pieces the size of the baking pan. Arrange in the greased pan.
  5. Before baking, with a very sharp oiled knife, cut into 1½ inches portions. Bake.
  6. Then carefully remove each piece and sprinkle with vanilla flavored powdered sugar|confectioner's sugar.
  7. You may use butter instead of oil.
