Barbecued Rice with Meat
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups julienne strips of cooked Beef
- 1/3 cup minced Onion
- 2 4-ounce cans sliced Mushrooms, drained (reserve liquid)
- 1 3/4 cups water
- 1 cup uncooked rice
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
- 1/2 cup chili sauce
- 1 cup diced celery
- Cook meat, Onion, Mushrooms and rice in butter until rice is golden.
- Add salt, pepper, mustard, chili sauce, celery and Mushroom liquid combined with water to make 2 cups liquid.
- Heat to boiling. Cover, lower heat; cook 20 to 30 minutes, or until liquid is absorbed.
- Fluff with fork; serve at once.
