  • 1 oz / 30 g walnut meal|ground walnuts
  • 5 eggs
  • 5 tablespoons powdered sugar|confectioner's sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cacao
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • oil
  • flour
  • fruits from preserves

  • 3 egg whites
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar|sugar

  • 3 yolks
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar|confectioner's sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cacao
  • 8 oz / 250 g butter
  • 5 oz / 150 g whipped cream

Directions

  1. Whip 5 egg whites with 5 tablespoons of granulated sugar|sugar and vanilla.
  2. Add the slightly beaten yolks, mix, add a tablespoon of cacao and the walnut meal|ground walnuts.
  3. Pour this mixture into a baking pan which was lightly greased with oil and dusted with flour.
  4. Bake at medium heat.

  6. In the meantime, whip 3 egg whites with 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar|sugar and vanilla.
  7. When the batter in the oven is done, remove, spread the whipped egg whites on top, in a uniform layer and place it back into the oven so that the egg whites layer gets baked.
  8. Then remove from the pan, set on a plate and let cool.

  10. For the cream, beat the butter with 3 tablespoons powdered sugar|confectioner's sugar and cacao.
  11. Add the yolks one by one, mixing well.
  12. Use this cream to cover the cake, laying a thicker layer on top.
  13. Garnish with 5 oz / 150 g whipped cream and various fruits from preserves.
