Pad Pak Bung

Recipe Description

This is a very delicious Thai recipe. You can make it with either spinach or red orach.


  • 1½ lbs of greens
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 5 t cooking oil
  • 4 - 5 tsp nuoc mam (fish sauce)


  1. Add greens to boiling water, bring back to boil, and cook until just tender (2 minutes or so).
  2. Drain and rinse under cold water.
  3. Squeeze out as much water as you can.
  4. Chop up very fine.
  5. Stir-fry the garlic in the oil until it just is getting golden.
  6. Throw in the greens and fry for a couple of minutes.
  7. Add the nuoc mam a tsp at a time.
  8. Serve.
