Amish Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Amish starter
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup butter, melted

Directions

  1. Combine flour, baking soda, salt and baking powder.
  2. In a separate bowl combine eggs, oil.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Add starter to dry ingredients and mix.
  5. Transfer to a lightly floured surface and roll.
  6. Cut out biscuits and place on a lightly grease cookie sheet.
  7. brush top of biscuits with melted butter.
  8. Cover and let rise 30 minutes.
  9. Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 15 - 20 minutes.
