Bread Soup

Ingredients

  • 200 g bread
  • 2 onions
  • 1 tbsp flour|plain flour
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 litre stock
  • salt, pepper, ground nutmeg

Directions

  1. Thinly slice the bread.
  2. Cook together with the chopped onion in the butter with the flour.
  3. Add the stock, season with salt, pepper and nutmeg and cook for about 20 minutes.
  4. Strain the soup through a sieve and bring back to the boil.
  5. Serve with grated cheese.
