Ham Bean Soup

Ingredients

  • 2 cups dried navy beans
  • 1 ham bone
  • 2 quarts water
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 quarts milk
  • 3 tablespoons butter

Directions

  1. Drain beans.
  2. Add water and ham bone.
  3. Cook slowly.
  4. Pick meat from bone.
  5. Chop and return to bean mixture.
  6. Add milk.
  7. Heat and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Add butter and serve.
