Tacos American-style

Ingredients

  • 10 flour tortillas (fajita Size)
  • ¼ cup Crisco (all-vegetable shortening)
  • ==
  • 1½ lbs ground beef
  • salt and pepper
  • garlic salt (or garlic powder|powder)
  • ==
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 1 cup lettuce (shredded)
  • ½ cup tomatoes (diced)

Directions

  1. Fry ground beef in a frying pan.
  2. Season with salt pepper and garlic salt.
  3. Drain.
  4. Chop lettuce and tomatoes, shred cheese.
  5. Melt shortening in frying pan, fry tortillas one at a time.
  6. When golden brown and crispy, drain upside down, on paper towels.
  7. Fill tortillas with a few tablespoons of meat.
  8. Top with lettuce, tomato and cheese.
  9. Use ketchup or taco sauce.
