Decadent Chocolate Truffles

Recipe Description

Makes about 36 truffles.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter|unsalted butter, softened
  • 2½ cups powdered sugar|confectioners' sugar
  • ½ cup cocoa
  • ¼ cup heavy cream|heavy or light whipping cream|whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon coffee liqueurs|coffee liqueur (such as Kahlúa) <ref>May substitute 1 tablespoon chocolate extract </ref>
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chocolate chips|chips, very finely chopped

Directions

  1. Cream butter in large bowl.
  2. Combine confectioner's sugar and cocoa.
  3. Add alternately with cream, coffee liqueur and vanilla to butter.
  4. Blend well.
  5. Chill until firm.
  6. Shape into 1-inch balls.
  7. Roll in semi-sweet chocolate until coated.
  8. Chill until firm.
