Cream of Wheat Cake

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar|confectioner's sugar
  • 1 cup cream of wheat
  • vanilla
  • syrup from 2 tablespoons granulated sugar|sugar with ½ qt / 0,5 l milk
  • salt
  • vanilla
  • shortening for greasing the pan

Directions

  1. Mix the egg yolk|yolks with the Granulated sugar|Sugar and vanilla, add cream of wheat, then the whipped egg whites.
  2. Pour into a greased pan and bake. In the meantime, prepare the syrup.
  3. Set the milk to boil with the granulated sugar|sugar, vanilla and some salt.
  4. When the cake is baked, pour the hot syrup over it.
  5. Let the syrup soak into the cake, then cut and arrange on a plate.
  6. This may be served plain, with whipped cream or a fruit syrup.
