Apple Crumble

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cup flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 6 tablespoons butter|unsalted butter, cubed at room temperature
  • 3 medium Apples, peeled, cored, cut into 1" x 1/2" slices
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

    Crumble:
  1. Combine flour and Granulated sugar|Sugar in a large bowl and mix well.
  2. Cut in the butter a little at a time, until the mixture resembles coarse meal.
  3. Filling:
  4. Place the Apples in a large bowl, sprinkle with brown sugar/flour/ciannamon mixture and stir gently to mix.
  5. Baking Directions:
  6. Grease a shallow 8" ovenproof dish
  7. Spoon the fruit mixture into the bottom and sprinkle the crumble mixture on top.
  8. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes, until the topping is browned and the fruit mixture bubbling.
  9. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
