Creole Shrimp

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. chopped green bell pepper|green pepper
  • 1 tsp. prepared mustard
  • 1/2 c. chopped Onion
  • 1/2 tsp. Granulated sugar|Sugar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • dash Tabasco sauce
  • 3 Tbs. butter
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. canned tomatoes
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1-8 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1 lb. Shrimp, cleaned, cooked
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1. bay leaf
  • 1 c. finely chopped celery
  • 3 c. hot cooked rice

Directions

  1. Sauté pepper, Onion, celery, and garlic in butter.
  2. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, prepared mustard, Granulated sugar|Sugar, Tabasco, seasonings, and bay leaf. Simmer 20 to 25 minutes, stirring often.
  3. Add Shrimp and simmer 10 minutes longer.
  4. Remove bay leaf.
  5. Serve over rice.
