Easter Bunny Breads

Ingredients

  • 2 pack yeast, quick rise
  • ½ cup granulated sugar|sugar
  • 1½ tsp salt
  • 4½ cup flour
  • 6 tbsp margarine
  • 2 eggs, large
  • 8 kisses, milk chocolate
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar|confectioners' sugar

Directions

  1. About 2 hours before serving or early in the day.
  2. In bowl, combine yeast, granulated sugar|sugar, salt, and 1 cup flour.
  3. In saucepan over medium heat, heat margarine and 1 cup water until very warm (125 degrees).
  4. With mixer at low speed, beat liquid into dry ingredients.
  5. At medium speed, beat 2 minutes.
  6. Reserve 1 egg white; beat in egg and egg yolk with 1 cup flour; beat 2 minutes.
  7. Stir in 2¼ cups flour.
  8. Turn dough onto floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes, working in about ¼ cup flour while kneading.
  9. Shape dough into ball; cover and let rest 15 minutes.
  10. Preheat oven to 375 °F.
  11. Grease 2 cookie sheets.
  12. Cut dough into eighths.
  13. For 1 bunny; cut 1 piece dough in half; shape half into ball, with a kiss in center, for body.
  14. Place on cookie sheet.
  15. Cut other half in half; shape half into ball; brush with egg white; place next to large ball, tucking slightly under it for head.
