Gabonese Gombo Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp red palm oil
  • ½ onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 1 piment, minced
  • 6 big okra (gombo), sliced
  • 1 maggi chicken broth|chicken bouillon cube
  • 2½ cups water
  • ½ cup cooked rice
  • ½ cup cooked lentils
  • 1 tsp crushed dried okra
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped

Directions

  1. Sauté onion and garlic in oil until soft.
  2. Add piment, gombo, water and Maggi.
  3. Cook until gombo is soft.
  4. Add remaining ingredients and cook 10-15 minutes.
  5. Season to taste.
