Maandazi
Ingredients
- 1 ¼ cup flour
- 2 Tbsp. Granulated sugar|Sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
- Pinch of salt
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup milk
- oil for frying
- Mix together dry ingredients and mix in egg and milk until well mixed.
- Roll out as for a jellyroll to about ¾" thickness.
- Cut using a doughnut cutter with center ring removed or a glass turned upside down.
- Fry in hot (365 °F) oil until golden brown.
- Makes about 1 dozen
