Whether you call them chickpeas or garbanzo beans, the result is the same—a delicious, moist veggie burger you can make right at home.

Bobby Dean finds yet another way to make our beloved comfort food meals light and healthy. Bobby’s Chickpea Veggie Burger will have you wondering if you might actually be able to give real hamburgers! (Ok, maybe not forever)

While most veggie burgers you buy in the store are full of binders and unknown mixtures, this chickpea and aromatic veggie patty is chock-full of nutrition and protein. Note for gluten-free dieters: there is a small amount of all-purpose flour used as a binding agent. You may need to substitute rice flour or other diet-appropriate flour.

Once the mixture is combined together, form the mixture into patties and let them firm up in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. While you’re waiting, you can get any sauces and condiments you like on your burgers ready.

Get a skillet nice and hot and fry these chickpea veggie patties right up. You’ll find these get a nice crispy outside—it’s almost like a falafel!
